Memory Lane: 1986 World Series, Game Six

If there is one moment in baseball history that captivates people (fans or otherwise) like no other, it is watching Mookie Wilson’s infamous ground ball pass through Bill Buckner’s legs to end Game Six of the 1986 World Series.

Just listening to Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola describe this game sends shivers down your spine. It was on shown in its entirety on ESPN Classic last week and even though I knew exactly what was coming, I had the same reaction as always. You know the feeling when you’re riding up an incline on a rollercoaster and suddenly it kicks into gear and you plummet at lightning speed back down to Earth? That’s the one.
